The lovely little village of Gosau nestles at 700 meters above sea level in the Inner Salzkammergut area, close to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage of Hallstatt-Dachstein. At the rear end of marvelous Gosautal valley you find the awe-inspiring Vorderer Gosausee mountain lake. Stunning panoramic views of the Dachstein peak await you here. In summer the whole area is just perfect for memorable walking, hiking and mountain biking. In winter passionate sport fans are strongly recommended to explore Dachstein West, Upper Austria's biggest ski area. Gosau comprises the ski mountains of Hornspitz, Brumsiland and Zwieselalm. Ski school and ski rental are available at the Hornspitz base terminal. Additionally, the region boasts 65 kilometers of Nordic ski tracks, numerous winter walking trails and an ice curling rink. Holidays in Gosau are great fun throughout the seasons.

Winter vacation between Gosaukamm and Dachstein

Endless sunshine under a deep blue sky: get ready for unlimited winter fun and skiing adventures! From lake Gosausee you take the comfy Gosaukamm mountain gondola to the ski mountains of Zwieselalm, a part of the Dachstein West ski area. Ambitious winter sport fans can choose from 77 kilometers of intermediate and difficult ski runs, five fun parks for snowboarders, a toboggan run for families and 50 kilometers of classic-style or skating tracks for Nordic skiers of all skill levels – leading through sun-kissed Gosautal.

The youngest guests feel at home in the lovely Brumsiland for kids, featuring moving carpets, Brumsi boarder-cross and slalom race track amid fairytale figures. Winter holidays in Gosau also stand for endless winter walking, snowshoe hiking or soaking up the sun in one of the deckchairs: heaps of snow, superb panorama and quaint mountain huts serving delicious regional specialties!
